Byditors Studio

Licence agreement

The agreement you accept when you install Byditors Studio. The same text ships in the folder as LICENSE-AGREEMENT.txt.

Last updated 26 October 2026

This is an agreement between you (the person or business that bought or installed Byditors Studio) and Byditors (“we”, “us”). By installing, activating or using Byditors Studio you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it, and ask for a refund under our refund policy.

1. What you get

1.1 We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Byditors Studio (the software, its motion-graphics templates, editing playbook, sound library, installers and documentation, together “the Software”) on the number of computers your plan allows:

  • Solo licence: up to 2 computers.
  • Team licence: up to 5 computers, used by people in the same business.

1.2 You may use the Software to make videos for yourself and for paying clients. The videos you make are yours.

1.3 The Software is licensed, not sold. We (and our licensors) keep all ownership and intellectual property rights in it.

2. What you may not do

You may not, and may not help anyone else to:

  1. share, sell, resell, rent, lend, sublicense, give away or publish the Software, your licence key, or a copy of the Software folder, including in groups, drives, torrents or forums;
  2. use one licence key on more computers than your plan allows, or let people outside your business use a Team licence;
  3. copy, decompile, decrypt, disassemble, reverse-engineer or unpack the Software, or try to get at its source code, templates or sound library, except where the law says you are allowed to and only to that extent;
  4. remove, disable, bypass or tamper with the licence check, or the copyright and licence notices;
  5. use the Software, its templates, playbook, design or output style to build, train or sell a product or service that competes with Byditors Studio, or offer the templates or sound library as your own;
  6. use the Software to make content that is illegal, defamatory, infringes someone else's rights, or impersonates a real person or organisation.

3. Licence key and activation

3.1 The Software needs a licence key. When you activate, and every few days when you are online, it contacts our licence server. It sends: the licence key, a code that identifies the computer (made from the computer's own ID, one-way scrambled), the computer's name, the app version and your internet (IP) address. We use this only to run and protect your licence. We do not receive your footage, scripts, projects or Claude conversations.

3.2 The Software keeps working offline for up to 14 days between checks.

3.3 To move to a new computer, deactivate the old one (“deactivate my licence”). If the old one is lost or broken, contact support and we will reset it.

4. Other services you use with it

4.1 Byditors Studio works with Claude, made by Anthropic. You need your own paid Claude plan. Claude, and any optional services you connect (such as ElevenLabs, OpenAI, Pexels, Pixabay or YouTube), are provided by other companies under their own terms and prices. Byditors is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

4.2 If one of those services changes or stops, parts of the Software may stop working. We will try to adapt, but we can't promise it.

4.3 Some parts of the Software are open-source or public-domain components (listed in docs/LICENSES.md). Those parts are covered by their own licences, and nothing in this agreement limits your rights under them.

5. Your content and your responsibility

5.1 You are responsible for having the rights to everything you put into or publish from the Software: your footage, music, images, voices, and anything it downloads for you (including clips found with the optional YouTube clip finder, which is off until you switch it on).

5.2 Scripts, facts, captions and voiceovers made with AI can contain mistakes. Check them before you publish, especially numbers, health, money or legal claims.

5.3 Don't use the Software to clone or imitate anyone's voice or face without their permission.

6. Updates and support

Updates and support are provided as described on the page where you got the Software. Updates may change or remove features. We are not obliged to provide updates or support beyond what was offered at purchase.

7. Refunds and ending this agreement

7.1 Refunds follow the refund policy. If you are refunded, your licence key stops working.

7.2 If you break section 2, we may deactivate your licence key without a refund, and you must delete all copies of the Software.

7.3 You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the Software.

7.4 Free testing keys may be changed or ended when the testing period ends. We'll email you before that happens.

8. No warranty

The Software is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't promise that it will be free of errors, work on every computer, or suit every purpose. Keep backups of your own files.

9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything related to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for your licence, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost data, missed deadlines or loss of income from your channel or clients.

10. Law and disputes

This agreement is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts in India that have jurisdiction where Byditors carries on business. If any part of this agreement can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
