Questions.
If yours isn't here, email us and a Byditors editor will answer.
What do I need to run it?
A Windows 10/11 or macOS 13+ computer with 8 GB of RAM (16 GB is smoother) and about 5 GB free, the Claude desktop app on a paid plan (Pro works, Max is better for long videos), and internet for the first setup.
Optional extras: an NVIDIA graphics card for faster exports, your own ElevenLabs voice, an OpenAI key for AI images, or a free Pexels or Pixabay key for more stock footage.
How do I install it?
Download the file, double-click it and click Install in Claude. Paste your key and tick the agreement. That's the whole install: no installer windows, no Python, no terminal.
The first time, the studio downloads its editing engine in the background, about 1.5 GB, which takes 10 to 25 minutes depending on your internet. Ask Claude “Is Byditors Studio ready?” to see how far it is.
Will it eat through my Claude plan?
It's built not to. Everything heavy runs on your computer, and the studio's replies to Claude are written as compactly as we can make them. On our 8-minute test edit they came to about 13,400 tokens, 53% fewer than our first version, and a small change costs about 240. How it saves tokens.
How long does a key last?
Solo and Team keys run for 30 days from purchase, and free testing keys do too. The 3-day plan runs for 3 days. Nothing renews by itself: buy another month whenever you need it. Your account shows when each key ends.
Does it work in Hindi?
Yes. Say “My videos are in Hindi” and it transcribes, captions and voices in Hindi, with a free built-in Hindi voice.
How many computers can I use?
A Solo key works on 2 computers. A Team key works on 5, for people in the same business. A 3-day key works on 1 computer. To move to a new computer, remove the old one in your account or tell Claude “Deactivate my licence” on it.
How do updates work?
Download the new file from your account or key email and double-click it. Claude installs it over the old one and keeps your licence, settings, brand kits and projects.
Does it need the internet?
For the first setup, and for a short licence check every few days. Between checks it keeps working offline for up to 14 days.
Who owns the videos I make?
You do, including videos you make for paying clients. The licence covers the software, not your work. Details are in the licence agreement.
What happens to free keys after testing?
Free keys run for 30 days during testing. Before paid licences open, we'll email everyone with a free key to explain what happens next. New free keys stop once paid licences open.
I lost my licence key.
